Mercedes PRO bundles all the services of relevance to you on a single web-based platform. At www.mercedes.pro this allows you direct access to mobility, finance, connectivity1 and fleet solutions1 as well as to related offers that go far beyond the classic van.

What are the benefits of Mercedes PRO?

Mercedes PRO allows the seamless and efficient integration of all the service and mobility offerings available from Mercedes‑Benz Vans. We have bundled on a single portal all current and future service offerings available for your van – from mobile fleet management through to maintenance and customised complete-system solutions. Once registered, you have access to a range of personalised topics of relevance to you – and, of course, to your vehicles.

What is the difference between Mercedes me and Mercedes PRO?

Mercedes me is designed exclusively for private customers and their requirements. The umbrella brand Mercedes PRO, on the other hand, has been developed specifically for commercial van customers and their needs and requirements.

The main focus here is on improving efficiency and assisting with everyday operations. Mercedes PRO helps make your business more efficient. Everything you receive is transparent and from a single source, leaving you to focus on what is important.

I use the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with communication module as a private customer (e.g. as a camper). How can I use the Mercedes PRO services in the MBUX?

If you use the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (model 907 and 910) privately, you can use selected Mercedes PRO services (in-car internet, Live Traffic Information incl. Car-to-X Communication, multimedia functions and the navigation functions (without Send2Car)) in the vehicle. You can find the hardware requirements for this in the respective service descriptions. 

The activation process for the use of Mercedes PRO services in conjunction with the MBUX by private customers – but without use of the Vehicle Management Tool and App – differs from the process described for commercial customers. If you are a private customer, please contact your local dealer.When you sign a private customer contract for Mercedes PRO at your dealership, everything further will be taken care of and you will be able to use your MBUX in your vehicle with Mercedes PRO services soon after signature. Other services related to the Vehicle Management Tool and App are designed specifically for commercial applications, and are not available to you as a private customer.  

What are the differences between the integrated solution in the new Sprinter and the Mercedes PRO Adapter?

Both the Mercedes PRO Adapter and the integrated solution in the new Sprinter with the communication module (LTE) for digital services belong to the same umbrella brand - Mercedes PRO - and enable the connectivity and fleet solution Mercedes PRO connect.

The Mercedes PRO Adapter includes five standard services, while the new Sprinter (with communication module (LTE) for digital services) offers eight different value-added packages with a host of services.

In addition, the Mercedes PRO Adapter is used for the Vito (model series 639 since 11/2010 and 447) as well as the Sprinter (model series 906) and is based on a plug & play retrofit solution (OBD II Adapter). It can be ordered through your authorised Mercedes-Benz dealer. The communication module (LTE) for digital services is an ex-factory solution and permanently installed in the Sprinter (model series 907/910) as from 06/2018. Retrofitting is made possible by the pre-wiring.

Connectivity in the Mercedes PRO Adapter is by means of the customer's smartphone (Bluetooth). With the communication module (LTE) for digital services, there is a permanently installed SIM card in the vehicle.

How can I register for Mercedes PRO?

There are two different ways to register for Mercedes PRO:

  1. Self-registration on the Mercedes PRO Portal
  2. Contact your authorised Mercedes-Benz dealer

Do I need internet access with a smartphone in order to use Mercedes PRO?

With a new Sprinter (model series 907/910), you do not need internet access by smartphone, as the SIM card is permanently integrated in the vehicle. This means that it is possible to use Mercedes PRO connect without a smartphone. However, the services specially designed to make the day-to-day work of drivers easier are linked to the Mercedes PRO connect app.

The Mercedes PRO Adapter requires internet access via the Bluetooth connection of your smartphone.

What is Mercedes PRO connect?

The digital and connected future of the automobile is gathering pace: The professional connectivity and fleet solutions of Mercedes PRO connect link companies to their vehicles and can improve efficiency and productivity – in general management, in controlling and in fleet management. The benefits include minimised downtimes thanks to predictive maintenance management through to clearly processed data for economic analysis.

The Vehicle Management Tool allows vehicles and drivers2 to be transparently coordinated and efficiently deployed. For the driver2, the Mercedes PRO connect app2 allows an exchange of information with the fleet manager using the Vehicle Management Tool and also provides valuable vehicle-related information.

What technical solutions are available with Mercedes PRO connect?

Mercedes PRO connect provides the customer with hardware connectivity solutions.

With the ex-factory solution, the new Sprinter offers deep integration into the vehicle architecture, which provides the basis for a host of connectivity services. The connectivity and fleet solution Mercedes PRO connect consists of the communication module for digital services, the Vehicle Management Tool for the fleet manager and the Mercedes PRO connect app for the driver.  The professional connectivity and fleet solution makes it easier for fleet managers and drivers to communicate while contributing to improved efficiency and productivity in your day-to-day business. Further Mercedes PRO connect solutions will be added to the portfolio in due course.

Where can I purchase the services?

You can purchase the digital services of the communication module in various value-added packages on the Mercedes PRO Portal/Mercedes PRO Store. The Mercedes PRO Adapter is available from your authorised Mercedes-Benz dealer.

Do I have to register separately for each service?

One-time registration for Mercedes PRO allows you access, subject to purchase, to all available services.

Is it possible to purchase services individually?

As a customer, you can purchase value-added packages for the new Sprinter with various services that offer you a special advantage - e.g. navigation or driving style analysis. Purchasing the services as a package also offers you a price saving.

In the case of the Mercedes PRO Adapter, a package of five services is directly linked to the hardware.

How can I activate the Mercedes PRO services?

To activate the Mercedes PRO services, proceed as follows:

  1. The vehicle must already have been added to your account
  2. You must purchase the services on the Mercedes PRO Portal/from the Mercedes PRO Store
  3. Services can be assigned to a specific vehicle
  4. Once the services have been assigned, they are activated automatically

How can I deactivate the Mercedes PRO services?

To deactivate services, four steps are required:

  1. Open the product overview on the Mercedes PRO Portal
  2. Select the vehicle
  3. Select the service
  4. Deactivate the service

What are the technical requirements for using Mercedes PRO connect?

In Europe and the USA, the new Sprinter as from production year 2018 (model series 907/910) comes with the required hardware as standard in the form of the integrated communication module (LTE) for digital services. An exception is the entry-level models "Crew" and "Worker", for which the communication module is available as an optional extra.

Thanks to deep integration into the vehicle architecture, this forms the basis for a host of connectivity services.

Can I use Mercedes PRO connect for other Mercedes vehicles?

The integrated ex-factory solution is initially available only with the Sprinter (model series 907/910). However, our goal for the future, of course, is to offer our services with additional models, too. For older Mercedes-Benz vans we already offer a retrofit solution - the Mercedes PRO Adapter. Can I integrate other-brand vehicles into Mercedes PRO connect?

We are concentrating initially on Mercedes-Benz models.

I already have a Mercedes me account. Can I use the same login details for Mercedes PRO?

Yes, you can use your Mercedes me login details for Mercedes PRO. But you still need to create a Mercedes PRO account. Your Mercedes me data cannot be transferred for legal reasons.

Will Daimler share my personal data or my company's data with other companies?

The user's data and the company's data will be shared with other companies only where this is necessary to deliver the services ordered by the customer. Daimler will not share any personal data for commercial purposes without the customer's explicit consent.

Why do I need to enter a personal support password?

If the need arises, a member of staff from the authorised Mercedes-Benz dealer or the customer support hotline can access your company's account in your name once you have entered the personal support password. This can be seen only by the users themselves.

The intention is to prevent unauthorised access to your company account. If, while on the Mercedes PRO Portal, you need help that requires access to your account by an authorised Mercedes-Benz dealer or customer support, you should enter your support password when requested to do so. You can change your support password at any time.

I wish to change my personal support password. How can I do that?

  1. Log in and open your personal data.
  2. You can simply enter a new support password without before entering the old support password (make sure that the support password meets the requirements: at least 6 characters, max. 20 characters, no spaces)
  3. Due to the possibility of typing errors, you are required to enter the new support password twice and to use the "Save" button.

How can I delete my personal user account?

It is not possible for a user to delete their personal account within a company account. Deletion must be carried out by a company administrator in the user management section of the Mercedes PRO Portal by clicking on the waste bin icon. The deleted user is informed by email.

What is the Mercedes PRO communication module (LTE) for digital services?

The permanently installed SIM card of the communication module (LTE) for digital services allows reliable and fast in-vehicle connection to the internet3. This is used for the Mercedes-Benz emergency call system4, Live Traffic Information and all other Mercedes PRO connect services. Mercedes PRO connect gives you a high degree of transparency, control and support to make your day-to-day work even more efficient.

For use, the vehicle must be paired by the authorised Mercedes-Benz dealer, the customer must have registered on the "Mercedes PRO" customer portal and the terms of use must have been accepted. The Mercedes PRO connect value-added packages can be compiled and managed as required on the customer portal. The communication module (LTE) for digital services transfers data especially quickly and reliably with the permanently installed SIM card and provides the technical basis for using the services of Mercedes PRO connect4.

In Europe and the USA, the new Sprinter as from production year 2018 (model series 907/910) comes as standard with the integrated communication module (LTE) for digital services.

An exception is the entry-level models "Crew" and "Worker".

How do I begin using the communication module (LTE) for digital services?

The communication module (LTE) for digital services is permanently installed in the vehicle and is activated by purchasing the services on the Mercedes PRO Portal (i.e. activation is triggered by purchasing the services and assigning them to the vehicle).

What services are supported by the communication module (LTE) for digital services?

You can select services in the following categories. These so-called value-added packages include standard services and additionally bookable services.

Eight value-added packages with digital services are available for the new Sprinter:

Why do I need the Mercedes PRO connect app?

Mercedes PRO connect makes communication between fleet manager and driver2 convenient and simple: with the Mercedes PRO connect app2 for the driver2 and the Vehicle Management Tool for the fleet manager.

For the user of the Mercedes PRO connect app2 communication takes place via smartphone. In addition, the driver2 can use the app to assign themselves to a vehicle.

Depending on which services have been booked, the driver can also use the Mercedes PRO connect app to directly view a list of the trips they have completed or to remotely open and close their assigned vehicle.

How much does the Mercedes PRO Adapter app cost?

The Mercedes PRO Adapter app is available free of charge from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

What basic functions does the Mercedes PRO connect app offer?

The Mercedes PRO connect app offers the following basic functions:

  1. Dashboard Management on the Mercedes PRO connect app2 gives the driver2 an overview of the main information on their assigned vehicle – such as the tank fill level and the remaining range – and allows them to make administrative settings.
  2. Notifications2 inform the driver2 by means of the Mercedes PRO connect app2 (depending on which services have been booked) about important vehicle information – such as low tyre pressure or low coolant level on their assigned vehicle.
  3. Vehicle Search tells the driver2 how to navigate from their current position to their vehicle.

How much data does the Mercedes PRO app use?

That depends on how the app is used. The app is natively programmed for iOS and Android, for which reason only dynamic data, such as trip list or messages, are exchanged with the servers.

With heavy use, the Mercedes PRO connect app uses around 300 MB per month (9 hours per day, 20 days per month).

The data volume used by the services directly via the communication module in the vehicle is included in the price of the service.

Do I need to connect the Mercedes PRO connect app with the communication module (LTE) for digital services?

You do not need to connect the Mercedes PRO connect app with the communication module (LTE) for digital services. All the necessary data is available in the Vehicle Management Tool.

The Mercedes PRO connect app automatically sends your data to the Vehicle Management Tool, which is synced with the Mercedes PRO Portal.

Can I use the communication module (LTE) for digital services without a smartphone?

With the communication module (LTE) for digital services, connectivity is by means of the integrated SIM card in the vehicle. This means that it is theoretically also possible to use Mercedes PRO connect without a smartphone. However, the services specially designed to make the day-to-day work of drivers easier are linked to the Mercedes PRO connect app.

What about data transfer from the Mercedes PRO connect app when I'm abroad?

Data is transmitted only when there is an active internet connection. Please note that your mobile provider may apply roaming charges.

I already have the Mercedes PRO Adapter app from Mercedes, which I connect with my van. Can I use the Mercedes PRO Adapter app together with the Mercedes PRO connect app?

No, at the moment you cannot use the Mercedes PRO Adapter app and the Mercedes PRO connect app together, because they are not interconnected.

The Mercedes PRO connect app is intended for use with the integrated communication module (LTE) for digital services and the corresponding Vehicle Management Tool. The Mercedes PRO Adapter app with the Mercedes PRO Adapter must be used with the corresponding Vehicle Management Tool. Please note that, at the launch of Mercedes PRO connect in the new Sprinter, there is a Vehicle Management Tool for the ex-factory solution with communication module (LTE) for digital services and a separate Vehicle Management Tool for the retrofit solution with the Mercedes PRO Adapter.

I already have the Mercedes me app from Mercedes, which I connect with my car or van. Can I use the Mercedes me app together with the Mercedes PRO connect app?

No, you cannot use the Mercedes me app and the Mercedes PRO connect app together, because they are not interconnected. The Mercedes me app is not intended for commercial use with Mercedes PRO.

What do I do if I've forgotten my password for the Mercedes PRO connect app?

Click on "New password?" on the login screen of the Mercedes PRO connect app. You are redirected to the "Reset password" page and can reset your password by entering your "Email address" and the "Characters from an image". The corresponding email is sent to your inbox.

What is the Vehicle Management Tool and why do I need it?

The Vehicle Management Tool gives the fleet manager an overview of the entire fleet. You can precisely filter the information that is of particular importance to you as required. For instance, you receive timely notification of upcoming maintenance, can see where your vehicles currently are and therefore better allocate new orders, can view a list of completed trips and send the next orders to the Mercedes PRO connect app2. This supports proactive maintenance planning and efficient work scheduling.

Before the vehicles can be managed in the Vehicle Management Tool, they must be set up on the Mercedes PRO Portal. Some vehicle information, such as model, fuel type or transmission type, is sent automatically to the Vehicle Management Tool on the basis of the chassis number and can be viewed there.

Other information can be added: such as registration number, leasing contract information, date of next main inspection, upcoming tyre change or additional information on e.g. bodies.

What basic functions does the Vehicle Management Tool offer?

The Vehicle Management Tool offers, among others, the following standard functions:

  • Dashboard Management, the homepage of the Vehicle Management Tool with its freely selectable and configurable widgets, quickly provides the fleet manager with an overview of the key information. Depending on which services have been booked, information on e.g. vehicle position and maintenance, mileage, etc.
  • Notifications in the Vehicle Management Tool keep the fleet manager constantly up-to-date on important events. Depending on which services have been booked, for example if a vehicle leaves a geofence.
  • Contract Management makes it possible for information such as start and end of a leasing contract, a contractually agreed mileage or a contract number to be manually entered in the Vehicle Management Tool.

How much does it cost to use the Vehicle Management Tool?

Use of the Vehicle Management Tool in conjunction with Mercedes PRO is currently free of charge.

The transmission of the data is necessary in order to provide you or your fellow users with the current vehicle status and to submit suitable maintenance offers. Daimler AG does not create movement profiles based on the transmitted data but serve exclusively for the service provision of Mercedes PRO connect.

Important Notice:

The journey time of each trip can be set via the Mercedes PRO Adapter app. There are three statuses:

  • Business
  • Commute
  • Private

In the 'Private' and 'Commute' status, the journeys are displayed anonymously in the travel log, both in the Vehicle Management Tool and in the Mercedes PRO Adapter App. Further, when performing journeys to this status, no position data is sent from the vehicle to the Vehicle Management Tool, i.e., the fleet manager does not see the current vehicle position in the vehicle logistics view.

What is the Mercedes PRO Adapter?

The Mercedes PRO Adapter transfers data to the smartphone using the Bluetooth® standard. It was a conscious decision on our part to do it without a hardware solution with a separately integrated mobile phone module, as this would incur additional costs for you as well as a further contractual commitment. Furthermore, you remain more in control of data usage via a smartphone and can adjust settings accordingly.

How much data volume is used by the functions of the Mercedes PRO Adapter App?

With heavy use, the Mercedes PRO Adapter App will require around 300 MB per month (9 hours per day, 20 days per month)

How do I connect the Mercedes PRO Adapter App to the Mercedes PRO Adapter?

The initial set-up of the Mercedes PRO Adapter together with the Mercedes PRO Adapter App takes place in five stages. Note that the Mercedes PRO Adapter must be connected to the diagnostic socket (so-called OBD-II interface) in the vehicle and that the initial set-up of the Mercedes PRO Adapter will be completed only when all five steps are successfully performed in the given sequence.

  1. Connecting the vehicle

    If using the Mercedes PRO Adapter App for the first time or if the driver's trip list still has no entries, the driver will be prompted after login to carry out the initial set-up. To do this, Bluetooth must be enabled on the smartphone and connected to the Mercedes PRO Adapter in advance via the Bluetooth menu.

    Next, the ignition must be turned on in the vehicle. An attempt is then made to connect to the Mercedes PRO Adapter.
     

  2. Finding the vehicle

    In step two, assuming a successful connection in step 1, the vehicle identification number (VIN) of the vehicle connected to the Mercedes PRO Adapter is retrieved. The VIN is then shown to the driver on the display.
     

  3. Confirming the vehicle

    After the VIN has been retrieved from the vehicle, the app's internet connection is checked in step 3. To complete step 3 of the initial set-up, the system confirms the vehicle's identity based on the previously obtained VIN.
     

  4. Configuring the vehicle

    After step 3, the next step is to open the vehicle configuration and synchronise it with the server.
     

  5. Completing the initial set-up

    As the final step in the initial set-up of the Mercedes PRO Adapter, the driver is prompted to switch off the vehicle's ignition. The vehicle's GPS position is determined as the ignition is switched off. The Mercedes PRO Adapter has now been successfully connected to the Mercedes PRO Adapter App.

Can I use the Mercedes PRO Adapter without the Mercedes PRO Adapter App?

The Mercedes PRO Adapter can only be used in conjunction with the Mercedes PRO Adapter App.
